The architectural proposal emphasizes the potential of establishing a north-south pedestrian axis, positioning an elongated pavilion with deep triangular overhangs that extend into the surrounding urban space. This gesture connects the activities within the pavilion to the public life around it, creating a dialogue between interior and exterior.
The interior layout is conceived as a system of two halls connected by a shared core of communal functions located at the center of the building. The two ends of the pavilion are symmetrical halls—one opens to the east, the other to the west—each framed by a deep, covered exterior space.
The roof follows a parabolic form, allowing for a logical spatial organization of varying ceiling heights.
The task called for a realistically executable, energy-efficient pavilion (in local building conditions). In response, we proposed a CLT timber structure forming a system of frames with cantilevered ends. We chose laminated timber for its low carbon footprint and positive CO₂ impact.
